To get a perfect, snug fit, you need to measure the inside ledge where the lid will rest. Do not measure the outside edges of your tank.Follow these steps using a standard tape measure:

Measure the Inside Width: Place your tape measure on the inside lip of the plastic rim. Measure straight across to the opposite inside lip.
Measure the Inside Length: Measure from the front inside lip to the back inside lip.
Round Down to the Nearest 1/16": Read your tape measure precisely. Always round down to the closest 1/16" mark. Rounding down guarantees your new lid will slide right into place without getting stuck or jamming against the plastic frame.
Account for Center Braces: If your tank has a plastic brace down the middle, measure each section individually.

Because rimless tanks do not have a plastic frame, you will need to purchase specialized rimless aquarium lid clips from online retailers like Amazon or eBay to support your lid.Once your clips arrive, follow these steps to get the exact dimensions:

Install Your Clips First: Place your purchased lid clips onto the glass walls of your aquarium exactly where you plan to keep them.
Measure the Width Between Clips: Place your tape measure on the inside edge of the left clip. Measure straight across to the inside edge of the right clip.
Measure the Length Between Clips: Measure from the inside edge of the front clip to the inside edge of the back clip.

Light penetration is critical if you are growing live aquarium plants or corals. Here is how these two materials compare when it comes to letting light through:3/16" Clear Polycarbonate (Solid)

High Transmission Rate: Allows approximately 88% to 90% of available light to pass straight through.
Direct Light Penetration: Because it is solid and completely clear, light waves travel directly down into the water without scattering.
Best for Growth: This is the ideal choice for high-tech planted tanks or reef aquariums that require intense, direct PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) levels.

1/4" Twin-Wall Polycarbonate (Structured)

Lower Transmission Rate: Allows approximately 80% to 82% of available light to pass through due to the extra layers of plastic.
Diffused Light: The internal vertical ribs act like prisms, scattering and diffusing the light as it passes through. This eliminates harsh glare and hot spots, creating a softer, more even glow across the tank.
Best for Low-Light Setups: It works perfectly for fish-only setups, low-light plants (like Anubias, Java Fern, or Crypts), or systems where heat retention is more important than maximum light intensity.

Here's the deal: I'm a cutter, not a mind-reader. A simple sketch gets you a fast and accurate quote. I literally trace your drawing onto the polycarbonate, so the better the sketch, the better the lid (and the faster we can get started!).

Before buying, please send me a picture or drawing of your design that MUST include the following:

• 📏 Overall Length and Width: To the nearest 1/16" (yes, I need that much precision!).

• 🖼️ Material Type: Clearly state "Twin Wall" or "Clear" (see options below).

• 🔗 Hinge Locations: Mark exactly where you want the hinges (if any).

• ✋ Handle Type: State your choice of Crystal, Hooked, or 1" Drill Hole.

• ✂️ Cutouts & Slots: Clearly indicate all filter cutouts, slots, or holes with precise measurements for location and size.
