From Hobbyist to Lid Maker

Like many of you, my obsession with the aquarium hobby grew fast—very fast. By 2023, I was running and maintaining 9 different aquariums in my home. Every tank was a unique ecosystem, but they all shared one common problem: I couldn't find a high-quality lid that actually fit right, held in humidity, and let the light through cleanly.

Frustrated with flimsy, warping, off-the-shelf plastic lids and heavy, easy-to-shatter glass tops, I decided to take matters into my own hands. In 2023, I set up shop in my backyard shed. Utilizing my passion for the hobby and a keen eye for precision, I began designing and custom-making my own polycarbonate lids right from that shed. I engineered them to fit perfectly and withstand the constant moisture of a busy fish room.

Turning a Passion Into a Business

Once my 9 tanks were fully covered with these sleek, durable, custom-cut lids, friends and fellow hobbyists took notice. They started asking if I could make lids for their tanks too. What began as a personal solution quickly evolved into something bigger—a real business opportunity.
